Walking to Fight the Flu 2008

We would like to thank all of you for helping to make our second annual Ian’s Rainbow Flu Foundation’s Walking to Fight the Flu 2008 such a big success. For those of you who were not able to attend this year we appreciate all of the support you’ve sent. We had a beautiful day for the 300+ walkers. Before the walk the kids were able to enjoy balloon art from Smiley the Clown and face painting from our good friends Mary and Kyla. Music before the walk was provided by Allen Keehler. A special thank you to Lara Moritz from ABC’s Channel 9 for being such a great emcee. The walkers enjoyed a nice 2 mile stroll along the Missouri River . After the walk was over we were able to enjoy a great concert performed by our neighborhood band “The Retro’s”. We also got to eat chips and hotdogs prepared by Boy Scout Troop 314. The Urgency Room was on site to provide flu vaccines. Ian’s Rainbow Flu Foundation donated the vaccines for all registered walkers between the ages of 6 months to 18 years old. All others were able to get vaccinated against the flu also. Over 175 people took advantage of this great opportunity to get a flu vaccine.
