My wife and I lost a little one at birth. I will never forget the pain. I appreciate Ian's webpage, because all lives have a beginning and an end, and hopefully that life is a rainbow of color and brightness that lives in the hearts and minds of the beholder. Be Blessed that you too have an Angel that watches over you and you get to see him whenever a rainbow appears.

I saw your segment on MSNBC today, and want to thank you for sharing your story and the important information about influenza. I didn't realize just how deadly it can be. Your segment prompted me to get my daughters (one who is high risk for serious complications) to be vaccinated asap.

My heart goes out to you and your family for the loss of beautiful Ian; I am touched by your grace. Thank You and God Bless You!

I am very sorry to year your loss. I understand how serious flu/respiratory viruses are. My son acquired RSV at 6 weeks old. He was in the hospital for a week and we were so terrified if he would make it the first night in the ER. The doctors too thought nothing of RSV in his age since he was a preemie. They were wrong to think that. RSV, flu, any respiratory virus/fever can be deadly in young children. We continued to take matters in our own hands with a special medical review to inform them of how disappointed, shocked, hurt, and angry we were at their textbook answer and lack of concern. Never again. We have learned the hard way the importance of getting vaccinated and doing everything in our power to prevent the flu/RSV. I scared it's a new season and still have flashbacks. I think this foundation is a wonderful thing to have and give you all the hope and happiness a family could have.

I just read your story on channel 9's website and clicked on the link that brought me to Ian's story. First of all, I'm so sorry for your loss. I cannot imagine what it would be like to lose a child! Secondly, thanks to your story, I will be getting my son (he's 10) his first flu shot ever. I did not realize that chilren were even allowed to get the flu shots. I get one every year, but never thought to have my son get one. Thank you for opening my eyes!!
Take care and God Bless you and your family.
Donna
